When did you begin playing pipes or drums: A long, long time ago.
Provide some info about your piping/drumming background, musical influences, and other bands you’ve played with: Started playing when I was about 16 at Coeur d’Alene and then taught there various summers starting in the late ’70s. Competed solo back in the day. Love piobaireachd, and still study it when the opportunity arises. Founding member of Willamette Valley Pipe Band, but only played the first year or two of their run and then I quit playing altogether for a few years. Played with Maple Ridge for 9 years before we started up the Metro band.
High point(s) of your band and/or solo career, including awards or trips: Won some, lost some, went some places, got sunburned, got rained on. The high point, though, is just getting to know the people – from when I started until now.
Funniest band moment(s): Lately..Well, thank God it wasn’t my kilt that fell off during the performance.
