When did you begin playing pipes or drums: My first lesson was prior to the rise of the New Kids on the Block, but after the release of "77," my favorite Talking Heads album.

Provide some info about your piping/drumming background, musical influences, and other bands you’ve played with: My musical highlight has been the Korn cover band for which I played bagpipes at two concerts. While Janathan Davis has not been, ever, a musical influence of mine, I attribute my youthful drive to play bagpipes to Louis Armstrong, Dorothy’s Ruby Red Slippers; Washington Cabernet–Sauvignons, David Byrne, Joe Montana, and Milli Vanilli (before they were falsely accused of lip–syncing).

Misc. facts about you: I like to compete in sports that require tights; I don’t like beer; Van Morrison sucks (I can back this up with scientific data); I am an environmental scientist; favorite movie: Empire Records; favorite food: smoked salmon; favorite conservative talk show host to make fun of: Bill O’Reilly; favorite real-life conservative I like to harass: Mark Tomasetti.
